Not GoTY, Favorite Game. Period.

The Video Game Awards were the other day, and i say out with them. You see, everybody gets in the mindset that the GoTY should be high-quality, high-budget, high-marketing. I ask you, though, what game did you play the most this year, and/or what one was your favorite?

When I made the topic on the forums originally, I didn't even think of the VG awards. I was just thinking about what my favorite games were and what other people's were. I started with the category of Shooters, and now we're at Open-World games.

My question to you is, what's your favorite game this year? Maybe you rented it because you couldn't buy it at the time, or is it just your most played game this year? Leave a comment saying what it is and why. If you feel you want to say categories, these are them:

Shooters
Forums: CoD most voted.

Open-World

Action/Adventure

Family Friendly

Other

My personal ones are: Shooters: CoD series, but most fun with friends was in Halo 3. Open-World was Red Faction: Guerilla, wish I had money to buy it. Racing was Burnout Paradise, though I'm really hoping I get Forza 3. AC2 for Action/Adventure, and Trials HD for Other.

You'll notice not everything I've listed was this year (Only Burnout was last year), but it's whatever you played the most.
